Each night Caedmon was very excited to go firefly hunting. The first night we had all three older kids outside jumping and running around trying to catch the little bugs. It was great excitement when they got one and everyone had to come see it. We also got some bug bites but it was worth it to see the joy when they catch the fireflies.

On day 2 we went to Jamestown to learn a little history. We made a deal with the kids that we were going to ask each of them question that night about what they learned. We ask both Cosette and Caedmon 3 questions and Cora and Kammi 5...they had to get them right or no dessert!!! Needless to say all day they were trying to tell us good questions to ask, ones they knew the answers too. :) Overall we spent quiet a bit of time in the Indian village and a little bit of time on the ships and hardly any time in the "fort". It was so hot and Kara was sooooo whinny, and everyone was hungry by the time we left. For lunch we had a picnic by the James River and the Jamestowne glass blowers shop. We enjoyed lunch in the shade, cooling our feet in the James River, and watching the glass blower make candle stick holders (Jeff had the camera...hence no pictures.)
The Indian Village:

The Susan Constant (capt by Christopher Newport!) and canoe making. (At one point Nate threw out his paci and I didn't realize it but he kept saying "uh oh". Then someone walking behind us asked me if I was missing a blue and orange paci. I guess I need to actually listen to him when he says "uh oh" 'cause he is actually using it correctly. :)
