Last Friday night we were able to join Kathryn, Matt, and Lisa in Norfolk for some excellent dinner and a hockey game. The restaurant we went to was recommended by a friend as well as Guy Fiere (it was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives). Supposedly this restaurant is responsible for the creation of the ice cream cone. Well, I don't know about their ice cream cones but they make a mean hamburger and lime-aid. :) Most of the pictures from the restaurant were taken with Nate's assistance...hence the nature of the pictures.

After dinner we headed over to Scope Arena to check out the Norfolk Admirals. I thought the game started at 7:15 however it didn't start until 7:30 so we got lots of time to observe the pre-game festivities. Jeff was a little worried that the game would not live up to the pre-game in Nate's eyes. Nate loved dancing to the rock-n-rock, waving to the doggie, cheering whenever he felt like it, watching all 20+ Admirals players shoot on goal, and the Zamboni! He seemed to love it and also provided entertainment to all the other early spectators in our section. When the game did start he still enjoyed cheering and most of all he enjoyed eating popcorn. After the first period Kathryn, Matt and Lisa moved over to our section and Nate and Lisa, in their sleep deprived states, enjoyed playing peek-a-boo with each other. I think we figure out that hockey is a great sport for a little kid...not too long, only 20 min periods, and lots of action. Plus every time there is a break in action the Zamboni comes out. :)

We had a great time at the game and look forward to doing it again. Thank you Kathryn for alerting us to the discounted tickets!!
