Being touristy

Last Tuesday Jeff and I went into the city of Baltimore to do some "touristy" stuff. First we went to Fort McHenry which was very impressive to see and since it was a gorgeous day we had fun walking around the grounds. Fort McHenry was most know for defending Baltimore Harbor during the War of 1812 and it was said that it was during this battle that Francis Scott Key was inspired to write "The Star Spangled Banner."

We also went to see Baltimore's inner harbor. I guess several years ago the inner harbor was a scary place to visit but they have been trying to clean it up and make it much more tourist friendly. We didn't actually to go the inner harbor (that's for next week) but we went to a park that overlooks the harbor so we could see the "lay of the land." Next week we plan on actually walking around the harbor as well as stopping by Charm City Cakes for a photo op. :)
