Mini-golf

Our last activity in the Outer Banks was to visit a mini-golf place that one of Jeff's students recommended.  Nate has played golf in the back yard and watch a some on TV but had never been to an actual course.  I wasn't sure if he was going to like it but it turned out to be a BIG hit.  We (Mom and I) however didn't charge our camera batteries before we left so by this point we had no batteries and were forced to used Nate's camera for pictures. :)
The theme of the park was pirates
Our train ride to the top of the course
We had to learn to take turns and not run after our ball.  He did alright however he didn't quiet get the concept that you are not supposed to pick up your ball.  For the most part he did hit it until he got it in the hole however he may have moved the ball back further from the hole after the first hit (not sure why he did it but he did on almost every hole).

Of course we had a celebration after we got each ball in.  The celebration included swinging the club above his head and yelling...he only got me in the face once.

Coley, Grandpa, and Grandma watched and cheered us on.

At one point we had to hit the ball over a stream and I decided to hit mine in the stream to see what Nate would do (the first time it was on purpose, the second and third...well...)  Nate was hilarious.  He was very serious and came up to me and said, "No, Mommy, this is how you do it."  He then proceeded to show me the swing he sees on TV.  He was very concerned about my golfing skills.

Nate hit a hole in ONE!!!  He did better than Jeff and I did!  It was on the 17th hole but we couldn't believe he got the hole in one.
Nate keeps talking about going golfing so we might have to go again sometime soon.  I was thinking about sending him down to FL so Danny and Peggy might give him some lessons. :)
