Trip to the Wright brothers museum

Since my parents were here on vacation we decided to take them to see some sights around the area.  The first place we usually take people is Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Yorktown however my parents have both been there (at least once if not more times).  So this trip we decided to see some of the sights in NC.  I didn't realize that we only live about 1 hours 40 minuets from the Outer Banks of NC.  Why we haven't been there yet is beyond me.  Of course we did have to make this trip at least a little educational so we decided to stop in Kitty Hawk and visit the Wright Brothers museum. We all had a blast.  It was a warm day...in the sun...but the second you stepped into the wind it was a little cold.
Grandpa and Nate sitting by the monument.

Here is the view of the Atlantic Ocean from the top of the monument.

A replica of the first flight.

Our small little family at the top of the monument.  Nate and I decided to run the distance to the monument however someone got tired by the time we reach the hill and requested a piggy back ride...I will give you a hint: it wasn't me.

Coley and Jeff in front of the "long walk" from the visitors center.  You are looking at were the very first flight ever took place!

Inside they had a replica of the plane.  Nate really really wanted to try it out.

Grandpa, Coley, and Daddy taking their time.  Grandma is the only one who didn't take the trip to the top.  She was busy checking out some of the other building/exhibits.  Grandpa did great considering he has a new knee!
