The Peninsula Pilots is a local team that is composed of college kids who play other teams in the area during the summer. Some of our friends at church host several of the players over the summer so they organized a church night at the ball field and if you mentioned the church you could get into the game for a discounted rate. Since Nate loves baseball (and Coley kinda likes it too) we decided to drive the 10 minutes down the road and go to the game. Our Senior Pastor, Doug, and youth pastor, Jeff, got to throw out the first pitches of the game. As well our interim music director got to sing the national anthem. It was a ton of fun to sit at the game with so many of our church fans however it was very warm that evening. Nate had fun watching and cheering but after about 45 minutes he was asking to go home and play bat and take a bath. We would have liked to stay longer but since the Pilots ended up losing 18-4 I guess we didn't miss much.
