Bear Country

When you are planning your trip to SD you also have to go to Bear Country USA.  It's an awesome drive-thru animal park that features the animals commonly found in SD.  Since you can only drive at 5 mphs we asked if it was o.k. if we took the kids out of their carseats.  The lady told us that was completely fine within the park.  I was afraid if the kids were in their seats they wouldn't be able to see the animals.  Both of them loved to sit up with Mommy and Daddy and really liked seeing all the animals.  Coley LOVED the bears.  She loved them so much she bashed her head into the glass window several times trying to see the first little bear.  I think she was afraid she wouldn't see anymore after that first one.  It was too cute.  As her souvinour, Grandma bought her a stuffed black bear. :)

And up close.

Bighorn Sheep

Those crazy animals from VA (my brother-in-law took this picture of our fam.)

Mountain lion.

Big óle black bear.  These guys were big and there was a ton of them.  They would just walk up in front of your car or lay on the pavement.  The beds were by far the biggest area of the park and so much fun to drive through.

Up close...don't worry, the camera was on zoom!

Getting ready for an adventure.

The crazy CO animals (Grandma and Grandpa)

This car really should be in the zoo but drive-thru animal park would work.

Having fun!

To busy looking to talk to Mom...or pose for a picture.

This guy was right by the car!
