Well, how often do you think you will be in SD? Might as well see as much as possible! We left Keystone (where our cabin was) on July 6th and we were planning to drive to Devil's Tower in WY and then spend the night in Casper, WY (my birth place). However on the way, Jeff wanted to take the scenic route through the Needles highway and the Iron Mountain Road. Let's put it this way, if Coley wouldn't have slept it wouldn't have been worth it however with a sleeping baby in back it was breathtaking! Well worth the extra gas and time. The Needles highway had several different tunnels that you could drive through and see Rushmore. At one point there was two tunnels back to back and you still see Rushmore through them. It was amazing. We also got to see Sylvan Lake which Jeff read was one of the most picturesque place and it lived up to that title. We also drove through Dead Wood, where Will Bill Hickok was killed (which we also read all about). It was a fun drive and I am glad we took the time to see the sights!
